The Ins and Outs of Egg Donation

Preparing to parent with a child conceived by egg donation involves many decisions. Often, the complexity of these choices are overlooked or down played by many recipients (and helping professionals) in the rush to have a baby. Many want to believe that getting pregnant will erase the fact that their family was created with the help of a third person.

During this one hour group conference call, you will receive information on:

  • The psychological realities and concerns of building your family through egg donation
  • Understanding what questions to ask your doctor when egg donation is the treatment option
  • Importance of donor selection choices: anonymous/known; proven/unproven; shared/full; pictures/non-pictures; agency/ in-house; contracts/consents; and identity release/closed
  • Understanding donor evaluations including genetic testing
  • Number of embryos to transfer and how embryos are frozen for future use
  • Cost differences in egg donation
  • Understanding success rates in egg donation

You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns with others exploring this family building option.
